Privacy & data
Your photo stays private until a human has checked it. Everything that says where or when it was taken is stripped. You can withdraw it any time.
Collected on submission
- photo
- Original file, private bucket, opaque ID.
- venue
- Name, town, optional address and postcode, as entered.
- consent
- Benchmark-use and public-display choices, timestamped.
- contact_email
- Only if given. Used only about this submission.
- ip_hash
- One-way hash of IP and browser, for a daily rate limit. Raw values are not stored.
Not collected
- No cookies, no tracking scripts. Cloudflare Web Analytics only (cookieless).
- No raw IP addresses.
- EXIF, GPS, filenames, and captions are removed before any model sees a photo.
Use
- Benchmark (required): the processed image is shown to AI systems for evaluation, never with your name or the venue label attached.
- Public display (optional): the image may appear in the quiz or case studies after review. Held-out evaluation images are never shown.
Photos where an identifiable person is the main subject are declined. Incidental people may be cropped or blurred. This project identifies carpets, not people.
Withdraw or correct
Email privacy@bench.pub with your submission_id (or describe the pub). Withdrawal deletes the original, removes public copies, and tombstones the record. Corrections keep both labels in the audit log.
